Kari Horn, like all caring mothers, spent hours preparing for the time when her son would be born. She wanted to give birth naturally, but when she was ready to give birth, a problem arose.

Doctors sent the woman to the operating table for an emergency cesarean section to make sure the birth would be safe. Although she was initially disappointed by this, she was later grateful that the doctors were able to save her son.

When her son turned one year old, Horn began to develop a strange swelling just above her navel, was almost as big as a golf ball, and began to cause her immense pain. At that moment she was worried and went to the doctor, it turned out that she was suffering from an umbilical hernia, but on closer inspection, they found out that there was not only one, but three.

Umbilical hernias occur when the muscles around the navel are weak, and a small part of the intestines passes through the navel. This type of hernia is much more common in women who give birth frequently or who have more children. This mother’s doctor said that her hernia was due to the fact that her son was very big at birth: he weighed 4 kilograms. It seems that Horn was also allergic to the bandages that doctors used during and after the birth of the child. Eventually, she recovered, but her abdomen was destroyed forever.
