Keanu Reeves is not the type to make his relationship known to the public. It would imply that there were far too many opinions.

Reeves said in 2021 that he was still wed to Winona Ryder. The marriage had lasted 29 years. Keanu offers his justification.

The traditional white dress, flowers, and large gathering of friends and relatives to fill your social thirst for a while following were not part of this wedding’s setting. They had a ceremony and everything, but the location was a movie set with a large film crew, rather than a church where everyone would have been present.

Naturally, during the production of the 1992 movie “Dracula,” this did not actually occur.

“We did a whole take of a marriage ceremony with real priests,” Reeves said. He was then asked whether they are still married to this day, and Reeves responded: “Winona says we are. Coppola says we are. So I guess we’re married, under the eyes of God.”

Francis Ford Coppola served as the film’s director. He considered that having a real church as the backdrop would be aesthetically beautiful and help to make the scenario as realistic as possible. The director insisted that honesty was essential. having a wedding ceremony that is as authentic as possible for that religion [Greek Orthodox Christianity] would be beautiful,” he said.

Even he has acknowledged that the marriage scene between the protagonists might be more real than they originally believed. “This is pretty authentic and I think very beautiful, because we actually did the ceremony and had the priest do the ceremony,” Coppola said. “So in a sense, when we were all done, we realized that Keanu and Winona really are married as a result of this scene and this ceremony.”

“I think we’re married in real life“
Entertainment Weekly interviewed the two when they were doing media coverage for the 2018 movie, “Destination Wedding,” They were curious about their relationship. Ryder is convinced that God thinks they are married because of the vows they took.

Even if it was for a scene in a movie. “So I think we’re married,” she said. “No, I swear to God, I think we’re married in real life. In that scene, Francis used a real Romanian priest. We shot the master and he did the whole thing. So, I think we’re married.”

It has come to light that they both formerly harbored crushes on one another. But no one took any action or realized that the feelings were shared.

Keanu and Winona have been close friends for a long time, and “Dracula” wasn’t their first or final movie together. As previously mentioned, they co-starred in “A Scanner Darkly” and “The Private Lives of Pippa Lee,” among other films. They also acted in “Destination Wedding.” They do, however, have both a friendship and a professional relationship. Although they have never dated one another, they both have their own love relationships.

Another one of Reeve’s close pals is Sandra Bullock. In the December edition of Esquire, she expressed her viewpoint. They would have made a fine couple, she said, and would have succeeded where others had failed. They did not, however, give each other a chance.

“Keanu’s a guy who, I feel like, is friends with every woman he’s ever dated,” said Bullock.

“I don’t think there’s anyone who has something horrible to say about him. So maybe we could have survived. I don’t know. But we didn’t have to survive anything.”

She added: “We just get to grow up together on parallel roads and tip our hats and meet for a dinner and try to work together. And the longer time goes on, the more in awe I am of the human being.“

Finally, she justifies her actions by saying: “Would I have been able to say that if he had dumped me and made me angry? Probably not.”
